Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region is exploring opportunities to expand cooperation with Gomel Oblast in agriculture and manufacturing sector, Governor of Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozarov said at the 20th Gomel Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

According to him, the forum serves as an important platform for strengthening mutually beneficial international cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties, and implementing new joint projects.
“Belarus is a reliable partner and a friendly country for us. We share the relations of mutual respect and strategic partnership,” Khayrullo Bozarov stressed.

He noted that a delegation of more than 40 representatives from Fergana Region is currently visiting Gomel Oblast. The delegation features representatives of agriculture, agricultural processing and the textile industry. “We are exploring opportunities for cooperation with Gomel partners in agriculture and manufacturing sector. We are also studying the conditions in the free economic zones of Belarus and Gomel Oblast,” the governor said.

Khayrullo Bozarov emphasized that Gomel Oblast has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, agricultural processing, construction materials production, petrochemicals and other industries. “Cooperation is important for us. We are considering the possibility of establishing joint ventures and launching manufactures both in Uzbekistan and Gomel Oblast,” he noted.
Khayrullo Bozarov also pointed out that agriculture is a robust sector in both regions. “We should pool together what we have and what you have, particularly in meat and dairy production and pedigree cattle breeding. This is highly relevant for us. We want to work together with Gomel Oblast on this front,” he said.

“We are committed to continuing working together. Today, Gomel offers many promising areas where we could cooperate productively and implement major joint projects,” he added.

The 20th Gomel Economic Forum brought together representatives from 16 countries. Over the years, the forum has become a recognized and authoritative platform for discussing current issues of international trade, economic and investment cooperation, and establishing reliable long-term interregional ties.
