08.07.2026
The newly appointed Aide to the Belarusian president – Inspector for Gomel Oblast Yuri Valevaty aims to bring his positive work experience from Grodno Oblast to his new role in Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned.
“It is quite difficult to compare the two regions. However, we still need to create a synergy and achieve results. Together, we will strive to not only preserve but also build upon what has been achieved,” Yuri Valevaty, who until now served as First Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, said. “Who says people are different? In any locality, everything depends on the training level of specialists and each individual’s desire to deliver results. People are the same everywhere.”In connection with the upcoming harvesting campaign, the new Aide to the president said he intends to regularly visit local areas to stay informed. “I am really looking forward to it. I want to breathe in this air. Desk work is more suited for an analyst. But you will never draw the right conclusion, make the correct decision, or give the right advice if you do not feel everything that is happening on the ground, if you do not listen to ordinary people, and do not see firsthand what the processes are and what efforts it all takes. Undoubtedly, there must be a constant connection with the ground,” he said.
