18.09.2025

Gomel Oblast and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina of the Republic of Serbia have signed a cooperation agreement, BelTA learned.
During a meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions of foreign states accredited in Belarus and leaders of delegations from partner regions, Governor of Gomel Oblast Ivan Krupko emphasized that Belarus sees Serbia not merely as a partner but as a kindred spirit. "The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Gomel Oblast already have a history of cooperation. Novi Sad and Gomel have exchanged delegations, and businesses are actively exploring common ground," he noted.
The parties signed an agreement between the government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture and an action plan (roadmap) for 2025–2026. The document was signed by Governor of Gomel Oblast Ivan Krupko and Nenad Ivanišević, the Vojvodinian Secretary of Economy and Tourism.
Nenad Ivanišević expressed gratitude for the warm reception and open dialogue, extending an invitation to Gomel Oblast to visit Serbia. Specifically, he highlighted a tourism fair scheduled to take place in Novi Sad in late November. Gomel Oblast was also invited to send a delegation to explore the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. "We would like you to come and see how beautiful our country is, just as we have witnessed the beauty of yours during our time in Gomel,” he said. He added that the signing of the agreement signifies the continuation of bilateral cooperation and the creation of new horizons for project development. “We are strengthening what was initiated several years ago. This gives hope for even more fruitful and high-quality cooperation in economy, culture, and sport,” Nenad Ivanišević said.
The Gomel Economic Forum on 18 and 19 September brought together around 500 participants from various countries. Over the years, the forum has become a recognized and authoritative platform for discussing pressing issues of international trade, economic and investment cooperation and interregional ties.
