High tech, investments, and services are the drivers of Belarus-Russia trade, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said at a joint meeting of the boards of the Belarusian Economy Ministry and the Russian Economic Development Ministry in Gomel, BelTA has learned.

The minister stressed that the two countries’ economic agencies are working together to overcome any adversity and any sanctions regimes, jointly developing solutions and then presenting them at the highest level.

Yuri Chebotar pointed out: “The key thing in [mutual] trade is quality. And quality is precisely everything related to high tech, investment exports and imports,” he emphasized.

“We see great potential in services. This area needs to be developed. Transport, construction services, and tourism as well,” the Belarusian economy minister is convinced.

“We are also discussing attracting mutual investments and implementing projects. We generally have parity: investments flow in both directions. The key is to create new ventures with shared capital. New ventures guarantee sustainable trade flows,” Yuri Chebotar stressed.
