China's Chengdu delegation to partake in Gomel Economic Forum
GOMEL, 4 May (BelTA) – An official delegation of China's Chengdu (Sichuan Province) led by vice mayor will partake in the Gomel Economic Forum due on 19 May, BelTA learned from the Department of International Cooperation of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
The delegation will comprise members of the Chengdu city administration in charge of particular economic and social sectors. The Chinese side is interested in investment, industry, transport logistics, distribution networks, and some other fields.
The forum will gather delegations from some other countries. A delegation of Ukraine's Chernigov will be led by the deputy governor of Chernigov Oblast. Five Russian regional administrations, heads of Pakistani and Kazakhstani diplomatic missions, and some other officials have applied for the event as well.
The Gomel Economic Forum was first held in 2004. The event has gained the reputation of an efficient platform to launch investment projects.
In 2017 the forum will feature over 150 investment projects in 15 sectors of national economy: wood processing industry, processing of secondary natural resources, food production, tourism, and other fields.
According to experts, special attention may be drawn to the projects that require joint primary resources: agricultural production, wood, building materials, wild plants, and various kinds of mineral resources.
